Texas Renaissance Festival

The Texas Renaissance Festival is an annual festival held weekends in the fall near Plantersville. While not cheap, the food and entertainment are both very good. While most people associate the clothes, weapons, and armor with the festival, there are also beautiful gardens. It is worth noting that back in medieval times, wearing of flowers was not limited to women. Even the most battle hardened knights would also wear flowers. The modern pigments and dyes we have today were unknown then. Colorful clothing was rare and very expensive. Flowers provided one of the few splashes of color people could wear.
