Longhorn Cavern

Longhorn Caverns is located near Burnet, Texas. Longhorn cavern differs from some of the other caves in Texas, such as Inner Space and Natural Bridge, in that normal cave formations are rare. Don't expect to go to see stalactites, stalagmites, columns, cave drapery, soda straws, or columns. This cave has very little of that. However, one thing Longhorn does have that I have not seen in other caves I've been to (including those in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and Virginia), is crystals. Sections of the cave are covered with them, walls and floors. It is like walking inside a giant geode. And for all you treasure hunters out there, the crystals are not valuable, just pretty.
